The Gold Coast is a national and international player in the Marine Industry as it has made a name for itself for producing quality pleasure craft and as a place for enjoying them. At last count there was 450 companies which employed 4500 people on the Gold Coast in the marine industry. These companies include:

One in five of these companies currently export their goods and services overseas with much of a business going to New Zealand, Europe, North America and South East Asia. The success of the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show is responsible for a lot as each year it acts as a platform for local industry to show their wares on a national and international stage.
With an eye on the future Gold Coast City looks set to take the Super Yacht Industry in its stride. This will have the ability to introduce between $60 and $120 million into the Gold Coast economy over the next few years.
