The Health Industry on the Gold Coast is responsible for generating revenue of over $484 million. The industry employs 6237 people annually in approximately 1500 businesses. Much of the industry is supported by healthcare providers such as Allamanda Private Hospital, Gold Coast Hospital Southport, Gold Coast Hospital Robina, Pindara, John Flynn Private Hospital, Palm Beach Currumbin Private Hospital and The Tweed Hospital.  Queensland and the Gold Coast are also emerging as a major player in the biotechnology world with the Queensland State Government looks to spend $1.5 billion to ensure success.

Recently, Gold Coast City became lucky to host two new Schools of Medicine and a School of Dentistry. Bond University is Australia’s first private medical school and offers its students an array of degrees specialising in Medicine, Medical Software Development, Biomedical Science and Health Science. While Griffith Universities students can choose to specialise in medical, pharmacy and dental studies.
